Secure
Your voice never leaves your Mac.
Speech is turned into text by a model running on your Mac. There's no upload, no account and no server listening.
- Works with Wi-Fi off. Once the speech model is downloaded, dictate on a plane or in a dead zone.
- No account. Nothing to sign up for. Your license is a key you paste once.
- Your history stays on disk. Transcripts and vocabulary live on your Mac, and you choose how long to keep them.
Fast
Words land while you talk.
FastWispr streams. You see the prompt forming as you say it, and most people speak about three times faster than they type.
Typical rates: typing ≈40 wpm (Ratatype global average), conversational speech ≈150 wpm (National Center for Voice and Speech). Yours will vary.
Focused
One job. That's the whole app.
A pill that listens, a menu-bar icon and a home screen that counts your words. No editor, no AI rewrite, no meeting bot.
- Your words, not a rewrite. It types what you said. No second model polishes your tone.
- Names spelled your way. Add a professor, a library or a word from home once.
- Never loses a take. Audio is saved before it's transcribed, so a crash doesn't lose it.

Before you start talking.
Does FastWispr work offline?
Yes. Dictation runs on your Mac, so you don’t need an internet connection after the speech model is downloaded.
Will it drain my battery?
FastWispr is designed for Apple silicon and uses on-device acceleration where available. Real battery use depends on your Mac, model, and dictation time; we’ll publish measured guidance before launch.
Does it understand different accents?
The default local model is designed for varied English speech, but accuracy naturally differs by speaker, microphone, and environment. A broader-locale fallback is planned; we’ll list verified language support at launch.
Which Macs are supported?
FastWispr requires macOS 15 or later and is designed for Apple silicon Macs. Exact hardware requirements will be confirmed with the release build.
What is the refund policy?
Buying is open now: FastWispr is a one-time $19.99 payment through Stripe, no subscription. If your payment goes through but you don’t get a working license, email [email protected] and we’ll send your key or refund the payment.
